Small-gour tour to 3 wineries in Penedés 🍇🥂

Our small group tour includes lunch in a small family winery in Penedés. Featuring Spanish tapas like home made Spanish omelette, Catalan charcuterie and cheese, and the very famous pà amb tomàquet. All paired with 3 different wines from the winery

We had an amazing day at winery.

Cristina hosted the us to the beautiful house, with some rooms dating back to the 14th century. Where monks used to live and make wine in an old underground tank that is still used today to make a fruit full Grenache.

📷 1. Cristina is showing us an experimental wine, aged for 8 month under the sea.

📷 2. The bottom floor of the house is in grey and it dates back to the XIV century. The rest of the building was created during the XIX century in a neo gothic style.

📷 3. We were inside the old wine tanks from the XIX century. Where they used to ferment the wine under the ground to keep it fresh.

📷 4. A XIVth century room with authentic Gothic arches is the highlight of the tour. Besides the wine tasting, of course!

📷 5. We paired 5 different wines with Iberian charcuterie and Spanish cheese. A true delight to the senses. I loved the de Sitges white and the fermented in the same stone deposit the monks used.

📷 6. The guide got a little bit too much wine as you can tell by the guy holding two glasses in the last picture. It is good I didn't need to drive after the tasting 😜

PRIORAT PREMIUM TOUR 🍷♥️

Today we had an incredible day in Priorat. Visiting the winery and learning so much from its guide, Gemma 🫶

Thank you Zack & Co for booking this tour with us. It was a true delight to have you all sharing this moment together ♥️

Tasting wine on top of the Escurçons estate was a privilege. Over 600 meters above sea level, we had a panoramic view of much of and beyond. From there we could sea and even Tivissa!!!

We also learnt a lot from Gemma. She told us so many details about the history of Priorat and the Mas Martinet winery. How Josep Lluís Pérez started this project, when no one knew anything about Priorat, and how he made his first wine together with Alvaro Palacios, René Barbier, Dafne Glorian and Carles Pastrana in 1989. The legend was born 😎

Today .venus.martinet is leading the project and making beautiful wine. Expressing the essence of the terroir using what nature has, making a harmonious wine that balances perfectly the power of the Priorat terroir.
