Who knew these beautiful lil' critters were gracing the Balearic!

The ​Balearic Sea is home to abundant marine life, including hundreds of ​ fish 🐟 species, UNESCO listed Posidonia meadows, dolphins, turtles and also less-commonly seen seahorses.

There are two species of those tiny creatures sparsely populating the waters 🌊 around Ibiza and Formentera that are sadly endangered.

An initiative launched in 2017 by Manu San Felix, an explorer for National Geographic and a marine biologist, aims to breed baby seahorses in captivity and then re-populate Posidonia meadows’ areas where they live. What a wonderful project!
