Few places on the planet are more charming than the winding streets of Little Venice in Mykonos, Greece.

The maze-like town of Mykonos was designed to discourage invasion. It was easy for invaders to get lost in the narrow, winding streets.

Most people recognize the resemblance to the Italian city in the colorful two-story Venetian-style buildings with wooden balconies. In fact Mykonos was once one of the main stops on the trade route between Venice and Asia in the 13th century.

Little Venice offers some of the best views of the sun set. Each day, the sun dips below the horizon of the Aegean Sea, delighting travelers with a serene light show.

The Burj's graceful silhouette – meant to evoke the sail of a dhow (a traditional wooden cargo vessel) – has become a symbol of Dubai just as the Statue of Liberty is to New York and the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. This iconic landmark sits on an artificial island and comes with its own helipad and a fleet of chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce limousines.

The hotel has nine restaurants and bars and hold house to the award-winning Talise Spa.

If you’re a romantic type, you can book the “Romantic Moonlight Swim.” They prepare the swimming pool for two with rose petals and you can spend a night surrounded by the views of the Arabian Gulf while enjoying the moonlight, champagne and strawberries, all in complete privacy. If you would like to take it to the next step of romance the legendary restaurant Al Mahara (meaning, “Oyster Shell”) is often used as a place for wedding proposals. As you enter through the golden arch entrance the impressive gigantic blue aquarium comes into view. All the tables are arranged around this sea-water tank filled with exotic fish. A diver will appear with a sign while you’re dining.
