This winter we're taking time to update and upgrade our 'El Secreto' beach apartment... it's getting two new double-glazed UPVC sliding doors to the balcony (one in the living room, and the other in the double bedroom), which will mainly benefit our winter guests and keep the place cosy and warm during the colder winter months. We've already replaced two windows and the front door, and we've added an extra draft excluder which has had an immediate and positive impact on our overall winter guest experience.
We're also switching out our gas boiler for an electric water heater which can be controlled with a smart plug, bringing an end to occasional situations where guests have complained that they have no hot water, despite there being a plentiful supply of gas. A simple reset of the boiler is all that's required to fix the problem - but it's an annoying ni**le, and something we want to improve for our future guests.
We're also replacing the mattresses on our single beds with brand new viscoelastic mattresses, which should be much more comfortable than the standard sprung mattresses that we inherited when we bought El Secreto.
And finally, we are looking at alternative shower cabins, as the one we inherited with the apartment has seen better days, and is difficult to clean properly.
We've already replaced the sofa and many other fixtures and fittings in order to bring the whole apartment up to a good, modern standard. We've added air-conditioning and heating, fibre Internet, a smart TV with premium TV package, a smart and keyless entry system, and various other technologies that work in the background to help provide an easy and carefree guest experience.
For now, our booking calendar remains closed for new bookings, until we are 100% happy that guests will have an amazing time with us – but watch this space, because as soon as these upgrades have been completed to our satisfaction, we will reopen the calendar and start taking bookings for the remainder of this winter / spring season and Summer 2023, which already looks likely to be EXTREMELY busy!
