I am a personal travel consultant based in Manchester, specialising in creating bespoke and tailor-made worldwide adventures for my clients. Hello!

I’m Ben, your local, personal travel expert. I run my own travel business under the award-winning organisation Travel Counsellors. I have been working in the travel industry for over 17 years, and I have worked for many of the top high street companies before launching my own travel business. During my time in the travel industry, I have been lucky enough to visit many incredible destinations worl

dwide, visiting almost 50 countries to date. I am also one of the lucky few that has visited all 7 continents as last year I finally made it to Antarctica, a destination that has been on my bucket list since forever. I think that means I am fairly well-placed to give you first hand advice on your own travel plans. I love sharing my own travel stories with my clients, and running my own travel business allows me to do just that. I specialise in creating and booking tailor-made, bespoke travel itineraries and adventures for my clients, according to their specific wants and needs. For me, the most important thing is getting it 100% right for you 100% of the time! I hope that you all had a lovely weekend!

Just a little reminder, I’ll be out of the office from this Friday, jetting off the gorgeous Greek island of Skiathos - a brand new destination for me!

I will be available until 6pm on Thursday, focusing on finalising existing holiday enquiries and making sure everything is perfectly in place for my customers’ upcoming trips, so if you're waiting for an update from me, I will be in touch over the next couple of days.

If you are wanting a quote for a new trip, then I am still around and available to discuss this with you until Thursday, but this will be worked on when I'm back to work on Monday 25th.

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐨𝐬!

You might be thinking that I kept this one quiet...well, actually that's not quite true! This was a very spontaneous decision made Monday afternoon before I flew out Tuesday afternoon 😅

As most of you know, I recently sold my house in Manchester, and am still weighing up my permanent plans for the future. Do I stay in Manchester, or do I chase the sun??
So, in the interim, I will be spending time with family over in Spain, family in the UK, and short term rentals where needed - and last minute getaways like this one!

The beauty of my job is that as long as I have my laptop with me and a good wi-fi connection, anywhere in the world becomes my office. My clients live all over the UK so face to face meetings generally aren't possible anyway! I do a lot of my business through Zoom calls, use Whatsapp voice notes to communicate, emails with proposals, or just pick up the good old phone!

Although this is not a holiday - it's merely a change of working location for the next week! - this is your 7 day notice, as from the 14th May I will be out of office officially for 9 days as I return to Greece, to the beautiful island of Skiathos for an ACTUAL holiday with my mum. The out of office is getting switched on at 5pm sharp on the 13th May until the morning of the 23rd.

But for now, it's business as usual, and as always you know where to reach me ⬇️

After Monday nights very informative Vancouver event, how could this destination not be this weeks Wishlist Wednesday featured destination??

If Vancouver isn't already on your bucket list, it seriously should be. One of my key take-aways from Mondays event was that Vancouver is a destination that quite literally caters to any type of traveller, and has something to offer EVERYONE.

Want to sit sipping coffee in a cool, laid-back, artsy neighbourhood? Check ✅

Want to explore a historic district with architecture dating back to the 1800? Check ✅

Relaxing on beaches? Check ✅

Fancy sea kayaking and whale watching? Check ✅

And if you don't mind venturing a little further afield from the city itself, you can be out in the mountains for bear spotting, hiking, and even ski-ing depending on the season.

Vancouver is one of those rare places where you can do a morning hike, spend the afternoon at the beach, and still make it back in time for dinner in the city.

Whilst Canada as a whole is the perfect destination for a longer trip, if time doesn't allow, Vancouver is the perfect "city break" option for that next long weekend away.

It's definitely going on my list!

I had a fantastic night last night attending "The Vancouver Pitch" evening at National Football Museum here in Manchester.

It was a really informative event, with presentations from the tourism board, different hotels, tour companies and attractions, followed by some football themed activities (not my forte!).

Thanks to Destination Vancouver and Travel Gossip for a fun filled night!

It really does look like such an amazing destination, with so much to see and do - get in touch if fancy visiting for yourself!

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend enjoying the sun - I spent most of the weekend soaking it up in the back garden, it felt like I was in Spain or Greece it was that hot!

Not quite as sunny this morning, but at least that makes it easier to stay at the desk and not be quite as tempted to escape into the garden 😅

Lot's to be getting on with today, I have a few clients jetting off to Greece and the US soon, so time to get those all prepped ready for travel, and I have a last minute family enquiry for some May sunshine too.

And tonight I am off to the National Football Museum here in Manchester - no, nothing to do with football, but a night to learn all about Vancouver and a chance to win a fam trip! Wish me luck!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 😍

I spent the day in our head office here in Manchester, attending a workshop on how to build and grow my little business, and how best to look after all my lovely clients.

Following the workshop it was straight to an event at Lane7, for an evening with Visit St. Pete-Clearwater - learning all about this amazing destination, and networking with members of the tourism board and hotel partners.

It was such a fun night - we bowled, played ping pong, and as always it was a pleasure catching up with my lovely TC colleagues and friends!

Another glorious day in Manchester today 🌞

I had to get out for a walk in the sun first thing this morning, and it really does set you up for the whole day! The sun is out, clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight - just what is needed for a productive day!

And the best bit is that it looks like we are in for a solid week of this weather too - here's hoping 😎
