Gran Canaria is one of 12 islands which make up an autonomous region of Spain. It is situated 200 km off coast Morocco.

Seven islands are inhabited with a population of around 1.5 million. Gran Canaria is located in the central part of the archipelago, between Tenerife in the west and Fuerteventura in the east. Measuring 50km in diametar, it is of almost perfect circular shape. It takes less than an hour to travel from one to another side of the island. A unique feature of this tiny island is its rich variety of mi

croclimates and landscapes and it is often referred to as "Miniature Continent". It is not uncommon to set off from cloudy and rainy north and within minutes to find yourself in the warm and sunny south. One can wake up in the morning to grey skies and chilly winds, but all it takes is to wait an hour or two, have a coffee, breakfast, read the morning papers and the summer is back again. It takes only half an hour to change beautiful sandy beach landscape of the south for stunning mountain views of the island's peaks. Continue your drive further to the north and you will reach a dramatic rocky coast battered by huge waves. One thing is for sure - it is impossible to be bored. One feature you will love about this tiny island is the weather. The temperature fluctuation is minimal - the summer's average is 26°C and winter's 18°C. The turist season is year round and whichever month you choose you will enjoy the sun, beaches, nature and numerous outdoor activities this little, but amazing island can offer.

Are you in the mood for something a bit different? This beach allows barbeques, dogs and camping. It offers a true local experience. Do come prepared as there are no shops or bars near: pack your picknic basket, sacks of coal, a fridge and some camping gear. And bring along your pet, they will have a blast.
