A day in the life of El Habanero Tren Turístico Los Alcázares
After spending a couple of hours dealing with a wheel bearing issue, I removed the clutch cable to inspect it yesterday, no obvious signs of wear so I reinstalled it. Incredibly it snapped this evening at 21.50... We managed to complete our lap, driving this old train around without a working clutch is incredibly difficult but we got back to the parking area at 22.20... where I installed our spare clutch cable in 20 minutes and managed to get back to complete our final lap from the Ayuntamiento at 22.45... and having it ready to complete a school trip early in the morning.
As much as we enjoy doing what we do, keeping this show on the road requires more than just turning the key and driving round for a few hours every evening.
It really is a commitment to providing this service to the people of Los Alcazáres, what makes it worthwhile is seeing the smiles from the little ones and the waves from everyone we pass.
So just to say sorry for the inconvenience caused by the occasional breakdown, thank you for the understanding, thank you for using and enjoying our service, and if we annoy you with our horn, or delay you with our slow progress, we hope you enjoy and appreciate the joy our train brings to many.
Have a great summer ..
