⚠️ Important update: Spanish Supreme Court ruling (21 May 2026)
Here is an update regarding the recent ruling by the Spanish Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court has declared the national register for short-term tourist rentals (NRA-NRUA) invalid, as the central government was not considered to have the proper authority to implement it.
What does this mean?
This is primarily a legal ruling regarding how the register was introduced. It does not mean that tourist rentals are no longer allowed.
Important to know:
* The national register has been declared invalid
* This does not mean there are immediate changes for rental operations in practice
* Regional regulations remain in force for now
* Further clarity is needed on how this will be addressed and whether new legislation will be introduced
What does this mean right now?
At this moment, there are no direct changes for existing rental activities. We are currently in a waiting phase for official clarification and any further steps from the government.
As soon as more clarity becomes available, we will inform you immediately. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out.
