Really disturbing news out of BC today as the provincial gov't is proposing a dramatically increased wolf cull in caribou recovery areas without any accompanying habitat protection: https://tinyurl.com/yyjhpfae In fact, the Wildlife Defence League just discovered brand new logging activity in critical habitat of the Wells Gray endangered caribou herd. This has led to TWO different petitions/letter and email-writing campaigns that we could use all of your help on if you don't want to see them kill up to 80% of the wolves in a number of areas throughout BC. Please 'Share' this post and read on to see what you can do to help!
First, Pacific Wild has a long-standing campaign to help BC wolves at https://pacificwild.org/campaign/save-bc-wolves/ Importantly, you can either write an email/letter directly to politicians there (and you can be from anywhere in the world to do this) or you can sign the petition that is at almost 500,000 signatures, https://www.change.org/p/save-b-c-wolves
Second, the WDL has a campaign to TAKE ACTION by sending an e-mail to Premier John Horgan and Doug Donaldson, Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development in British Columbia, respectfully calling for an immediate moratorium on logging and other forms of industrial activity within federally-mapped, core critical habitat of endangered mountain caribou until a genuine conservation plan is in place. You can email the politicians directly at [email protected] and [email protected]
