For trekking lovers, here you have the greatest hiking route that goes all around Málaga, giving you the opportunity to see the coast line, as well as the country side and even small towns. It is a 650 km route with 35 stages, 17 of which can be done on bike or even riding a horse. The walk goes through 51 local councils. Some examples are Málaga, Nerja, Torrox, Archidona, Marbella and Ronda.
Para los amantes del senderismo, os presento la ruta más grande de toda la provincia de Málaga. Y es que la Gran Senda de Málaga recorre prácticamente toda la provincia, un serpenteo de 650 km tanto por costa como por montaña. Cuenta con 35 etapas y 17 de ellas se pueden realizar en bicicleta y caballo. Pasa por 51 municipios, por su puesto entre los que se encuentran la ciudad de Málaga, Torrox, Nerja, Marbella, Archidona, Ronda etc.

If you are around la Cala de Mijas, do not skip la Venta la Butibamba, a humble place to have typical food from the region, I strongly recommend the red lard, one of the best I have ever tried!
The place has been working for over 200 years and its always been so famous that the very town used to be called ''la zona la butibamba''.

Many know that the boqueron is the main symbol of Málaga, and they may even refer to it citizens by this term. But did you know that the cenachero - an extinct profession - is also a symbol of this city?
El Cenachero sold fresh fish of the day on the streets of the city while maintaining the balance of the two esparto baskets he carried. These baskets are called "cenachos" in Spanish. It is a real shame that this job no longer exists.
De muchos es sabido que el boquerón es un símbolo típico de Málaga, hasta tal punto que se usa el término “boquerón” para referirse al gentilicio de la ciudad. ¿Pero sabían ustedes que el cenachero, un oficio ya extinguido, también lo es?
Esta figura se dedicaba a vender pescado recién traído a puerto, en una cesta hecha con esparto, mientras pregonaba por las diferentes calles malagueñas, siempre haciendo bailar sus espuertas. ¡Una verdadera pena que este oficio se haya perdido!
