The beautiful city of Archidona is just a little East of Antequera, the city known for her great cultural treasures and the city located in the center of Andalucía.
Archidona has nothing to envy her neighboring city and has its own collection of treasures. Well worth visiting and just 35 min from El Torcal.

These unusual limestone rock formations are located about 30 km north of Málaga city and are some of the most beautiful and impressive limestone landscapes in Europe. The whole area was under sea until one hundred million years ago and was pushed up slowly over the years. It is actually still doing so. Wind, water and time has slowly eroded parts of the stone to form these unusual shapes.
There are two routes you can follow. One is about 45 minutes long and an easy walk, and the other, a bit more challenging takes about twice the time.
Get there before 10AM so you can still get a parking spot at the beginning of the trail or you will have to park about 3 miles away and will have to wait for the bus to take you up (no dogs are allowed on the bus and there are no car seats for children available!)
Have fun!!

Spent the evening in one of the most beautiful towns of Spain - Frigiliana! This small mountain town north of Nerja has a very amazing story of how centuries ago three very different cultures lived together and made Frigiliana part of Spanish history. Every year, for four days, the Festival de las Tres Culturas celebrates in remembrance of those days where Jews, Moors, and Christians shared this town :)
