🎂✨ HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, GRAN HOTEL MIRAMAR! ✨🎂

This year, one of Málaga’s most iconic buildings celebrates an incredible milestone: 100 years of history. 💯🌴

Opened in 1926 as the Hotel Príncipe de Asturias and inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII and Queen Victoria Eugenia, this magnificent seaside palace was designed to place Málaga among Europe’s great tourist destinations. 👑🌊

And what a century it has witnessed! From glamorous hotel and meeting place for European royalty and high society, to hospital during the Spanish Civil War, institutional building and later Málaga’s Palace of Justice. In 2016, Hoteles Santos brought it back to its original purpose, carefully restoring this architectural treasure and giving Málaga back one of its most beautiful landmarks. 🏛️✨

Today, the Gran Hotel Miramar is a 5-star Grand Luxury hotel with 190 rooms, combining history, Mediterranean elegance and modern hospitality. A huge congratulations to for the magnificent management and preservation of a building that belongs not only to Málaga’s skyline, but also to its collective memory. ❤️

And the location? Hard to beat! Just outside you’ll find La Malagueta Beach 🏖️, the historic bullring, Muelle Uno and Málaga’s waterfront, while the Alcazaba, Roman Theatre, Gibralfaro Castle and historic centre are all within walking distance.

For 100 years, this building has watched Málaga change, grow and become the international destination we know today.

🎉 Málaga Fair is here! 💃🇪🇸

Every August, Málaga celebrates one of Spain’s most spectacular festivals, a tradition dating back to 1487. For one unforgettable week, the city comes alive with music, flamenco, horses, delicious food, and an incredible Andalusian atmosphere. ☀️

🌸 Feria del Centro is perfect during the day, with the historic streets filled with live music, dancing, local wine, and festive vibes.

🎡 Real de Cortijo de Torres comes alive at night, offering fairground rides, traditional casetas, concerts, flamenco, and endless fun until the early hours.

🚌 The easiest way to reach the fairground is by the special shuttle buses running from the city centre throughout the event.

✨ My tip: Enjoy the city centre during the day and experience the fairground after sunset for the complete Málaga Fair experience!

Today marks the start of the fifth day of the Málaga Fair, a celebration of Málaga's incorporation into the Kingdom of Castile 537 years ago. It's a Feria where locals and visitors alike celebrate, dance, drink, and eat for seven days.

The Feria is divided into two parts: on one side, there's the fair in Málaga's historic center during the day until 6:00 PM, and throughout the entire day, both morning and evening, you can enjoy the Real de la Feria located on the outskirts of the city. Public transportation is available from all neighborhoods of Málaga to reach the Real.

The Málaga Fair is known as the best fair in southern Europe. Enjoy it and have a great Feria!
