We recently started the Advent time , and few days ago we celebrated the feast day of St Francis Xavier, first misionary who went to Japan and settled there the first missions. Born in Navarre, every year is celebrated the Xavierada, where hundreds of thousend people congregates in the village of Xavier in his memory. In few days Spain celebrates the Immaculate Conception Day, a national feast day for all of us.

It has been a while since we wrote in social media and I think is time to let you know that we are back again. We really never left during this pandemia but we decided to take our time to cross this desert and wait for much clear skies. The world is reopening again, with careful, but with hope and planes are flying over the oceans with people again. Had the privilege to do this summer some portions of the Camino De Santiago with my wife and Carlos, same as last summer and it is becoming a tradition . Met mostly Europeans but since September I am seeing pilgrims from all corners of this small world coming to Santiago de Compostela as before. This year is special as it is Xacobeo ( holy Year) and the Pope extend his blessings for next 2022 as well. A year that we will celebrate in Portugal the world youth day and definetly a year of hope ! Will continue our Camino as pilgrims each day through life trying to share love with each other and thanking God for blessing us every day!

Today the Catholic church celebrates this day to the memory of St John of the Cross- Consider in Spain as one of the most wise men during the Reformation, he was one of the best poets and writers of his time, he became confessor and spiritual assistant of Saint Teresa of Jesus during the foundation of the Barefoot carmelite order. Consider one of the Doctors of the Church and one of the biggest mystics of his time. He died in Granada and his body was taken to Segovia where he is buried today. A city that has an special relevance for him.

These days we are living with the COVID spreading through the globe had been difficult to all of us and our beloving ones. In Spain today we are much better than at the beginning of the hit and people are traveling to visit their families or to a second home around. The horizon is getting a bit better here and our hope is that soon it will be much better all around. We had been working on our web site which is mostly informative about catholic Spain, its processions, pilgrimages and sanctuaries in the Iberian peninsula, both Spain and Portugal and also Lourdes in France. Also you can find information about Santiago de Compostela and the next holy year 2021.
