Aristotle said that 'without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods'. 26 years of friendship joined a barbier from a little village near Madrid- Eugenio Arias-, with one of the Genious of all time, Picasso.

A man with a thirst for culture, and love of his birthplace, Arias founded a Picasso museum in the small town of Buitrago el Lozoya, north of Madrid, with the 60 paintings and artworks given to him by the Spanish-born artist during those years of friendship and hair-trimming. An unforgettable visit, enhanced until the 9th of April with the exhibition of 61 fotografies of the Master taken by Edward Quinn, in the nearby townhouse.

One of the most iconic museums in the world, Centre Pompidou in Paris, reaches its maturity- a wonderful excuse (if one was needed) to visit and stand in awe before the masterworks of Matisse, Braque, Picasso, Kandinsky, Giacometti...a must!

UNESCO has just declared the Fallas festival in Valencia Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. I may be biased, but IMHO there's no festival as exciting, exhilarating and maybe exhausting (lol) in the world- but then, I don't ask you to beliveve me... come to Valencia in March and see for yourself!

La UNESCO acaba de declarar las Fallas Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. Quizás yo no sea del todo imparcial, pero en mi humilde opinión no hay en el mundo fiesta más increíble y excitante (ni que te deje más exhausto!)- pero no tenéis que creerme, venid a Valencia en marzo y comprobadlo vosotros mismos!

I probably should eat a more nutritious breakfast... only midmorning and I'm already starving and daydreaming about paella...For those of you guys who have been in Valencia with us and want to try your hand at home- I'd reccommend this recipe:

I've seen some alleguedly -authentic paella- recipes on internet that have made me cringe, but this is actually the real thing - only, step one is misplaced- it should be between step 5 and step 6- and you should never have to "add more water to replace the evaporated"- you should calculate the right quantity since the beginning... but then, as with everything, practice can take you to perfection ;)
