Football fulfils an important function in a society: It unites people, brings down barriers and shows to the public that handicapped athletes play football with talent and enthusiasm, they are not different from anybody else

Therefore Gran Canaria is looking forward to the International Football Friendship Tournament in November, 2011. Fußball ist Sportart Nummer eins in der Welt — auch für viele Menschen mit Behinderung. Er erfüllt eine wichtige gesellschaftliche Funktion: Fußball kann verbinden, Barrieren verschwinden lassen und der Öffentlichkeit deutlich machen, dass auch behinderte Sportlerinnen und Sportler mit Begeisterung und Können Fußball spielen — und gar nicht so „anders“ sind, wie vielfach geglaubt wird. Deshalb freut sich Gran Canaria auf das 1. Internationale Fussball-Freundschafts-Turnier für alle "BALÓN - GRAN CANARIA" im November 2011.

Team members and friends of Festival del Balon - Gran Canaria joined the World-Down-Syndrom-Day run in Fürth/Germany. We offered the oportunity to play easy footbal for all participants and viewers.
The high number of athletes and visitors made it a great sports event on a sunny day!

Mitglieder und Freunde des Festival del Balon - Gran Canaria waren am 18.03.2012 anwesend am Welt Down Syndrom Tag Marathon Lauf in Fürth. Wir haben am Rande der Laufstrecke zum lockeren Fussball spielen eingeladen.
Die vielen Teilnehmer und das schöne Wetter haben daraus für alle eine tolle
Veranstaltung gemacht!
