Checking out our olive farm in Nigüelas, close to Granada. So much progress has been made since we took over this place for 2 years ago. Today farmer Pepe is spraying the trees with some organic fertiliser - and they seem as happy as small kids…!

We have sad news to all guests of Garden of Lemons: Our beloved cat LULU, the green and blue eyed mascot of the retreat centre, has passed away today .

She’s been with us ever since we came here to Spain for 12 years ago. Once a wildcat from the campo, she had kept her noble distinct personality, shy and friendly at the same time. Always respecting the boundaries of the house and simply loved by everyone who met her.
RIP, Lulu.
We miss you so much.

Sparkling green basil pesto. Do you know the secret to keep the green color? For years we didn’t, - but now we found out that blanching the leaves in salted water for 30 seconds and cooled immediately in ice cold water keeps the chlorophyll vibrant green.

Very close to the Garden of Lemons, in the “El Valle de Lecrín” there’s this fabulous swimming pool- that is quite useful in the Andalusian sun!

Exciting news! The Padul Municipal Swimming Pool opens soon with special events to kick off the summer. On the 21st of June for Noche de San Juan and a free open day on the 22nd of June! Plus, swimming courses start June 30th for all ages and skill levels.

Today one month ago we had this beautiful little harvest of fresh peas from the garden. We captured the moment with a photo in front of the rose “Isohahan”.
Now the pea plants are replaced with tomatoes and the roses long gone - but the plants completed the mission of spreading joy and beauty in a world that seems threatened by conflicts and wars and worries.

Isn’t it a little reminder to live the moment and see the light and beauty that we are surrounded by after all….

This year’s fruits seem to be better than ever. Is it because we’ve learned how to prune fruit trees? Or is it the fruit thinning that we’re doing regularly this year, or is it because the trees had plenty of manure back in February. Some of you might remember the enormous amount of manure we had delivered.
Whatsoever- it feels rewarding and satisfying. And the fruits taste divine…
