🥾 Three days, two backpacks & one little adventure through northwest Fuerteventura 🌵
We’ve just finished our three-day trek through the northwest of Fuerteventura — and what an adventure it was! ❤️
Day 1 — 13 km | +170 m / -140 m
We left our car at La Casa Alta in Tindaya and started walking through Tindaya, around the impressive Montaña de Tindaya, past the Volcán de las Arenas and Los Molinitos, until we reached our first accommodation, Hotel Mahoh in Villaverde.
We bought our picnic for the next day at the supermarket right in front of the hotel and after a long day on the trails, even had a night-time dip in the pool. 🌙🏊♂️
Day 2 — 8 km | +50 m / -210 m
The next morning, after a lovely breakfast at Hotel Mahoh, we took the bus from Villaverde to La Matilla and continued on foot to Hotel Boutique Rosario Martín.
The hotel also has a pool, so we could cool off after our walk. The restaurant was unfortunately closed — but that was simply part of our adventure as backpackers! 😄 We ate whatever we had in our backpacks.
Day 3 — 15 km | +170 m / -110 m
The following morning, we enjoyed another lovely breakfast, and they even gave us the leftovers to take with us for our picnic.
From Tefía we walked past the old concentration camp of Tefía and continued towards the statue of Miguel de Unamuno in Montaña Quemada, before finally arriving back at our car.
🎒 We carried everything we needed for three days in our backpacks. We could refill our water in Villaverde, and we could also buy water at our second accommodation.
For a child who is already used to hiking, this is a fantastic little multi-day adventure: 36 km in total, beautiful landscapes, rural villages, history, swimming pools, small hotels, buses — and the feeling of doing a real trek with everything you need on your back!
Three days. Three stages. One unforgettable little adventure. 🌵🥾❤️
