New trail day! Almost all the way to Ademuz we have Santa de Cruz de Moya with a lovely route PR-CV 11, Sendero del Agua. Technically the village is in Cuenca, but hey, if they have a Consum, it still counts as Valencia 🙃
The route is quite easy, 14km with a few hills, but nothing too strenuous. The most interesting part is probably the confluence of the rivers Arcos and Turia 🏞 These days of course, the landscape is full of wildflowers, with poppies standing out amongst others ⚘️
If you like solitary routes, peaceful routes, with good chances to meet some goats and deer - this one is for you 🦌

If you prefer to travel outside the busiest time of the year—we have a treat for you! From September 7 to 13, we will be hiking in the best part of the Aragonese Pyrenees. 🏔️
We’re heading to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park for a week of high-altitude wandering and ancient history. Here’s what’s waiting for you:

Sept 7 | Ermitas de Tella
An accessible circuit winding past three ancient chapels situated along a high ridge. This peaceful introductory walk offers expansive views across the Cinca Valley with minimal elevation gain.

Sept 8 | Llanos de la Larri
Leaving from the Pineta Valley, we’ll climb through beech forests to a high glacial hanging valley. The trail follows the Cinca River, where powerful cascades have carved deep into the stone.

Sept 9 | Castillo Mayor
A rewarding ascent to a prominent limestone fortress overlooking the Añisclo Canyon. After the hike, we’ll head to the stone-paved streets of Aínsa to explore its medieval charm.

Sept 10 | Cañón de Añisclo
A journey through one of Europe’s most striking limestone gorges. Walking between vertical walls, we’ll find natural pools and caves that show the sheer erosive power of the Bellós River.

Sept 11 | Valle de Otal
This scenic trek leads to a classic U-shaped glacial amphitheater. The path opens to a wide, grassy expanse framed by the imposing Tendeñera Massif—keep an eye out for marmots!

Sept 12 | Cola de Caballo (Valle de Ordesa)
The most iconic route in the range. We’ll follow the Ordesa Valley floor beneath massive vertical walls before reaching the "Horse’s Tail" waterfall at the base of the high peaks.

🏡 The Stay
We’re splitting our time between two traditional mountain hubs. We start in Escalona, a quiet village at the junction of the river valleys, staying at the hospitable Hotel Arnal. For the second half, we move to Broto, a lively town tucked away along the Ara River. We’ll be based at Hotel Pradas Ordesa, perfectly positioned for evening strolls past the Sorrosal waterfall.

The weathered conglomerate pillars of Montserrat form a striking silhouette against the Catalan skyline. These smooth stone monoliths, shaped by millennia of environmental forces, dominate the horizon above the Llobregat valley.

Moving past the monastery, the trail to Sant Jeroni climbs through dense oak forests before transitioning into the exposed high ridges of the massif. Reaching the 1,236-meter peak requires a final push up a series of stone steps. The reward is a panoramic vantage point that spans from the Pyrenean peaks to the Mediterranean coast, offering a clear view of the unique "saw-tooth" formation that gives the range its name.

It was a great pleasure to navigate these trails with an awesome group this past Saturday, sharing the effort of the 600-meter vertical gain and the rugged terrain.

Another great hike in Catalonian lands, right before our return to base. Today we visited Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac and hiked to Paller de Tot l'Any 🪨 Quite an underrated area, just half an hour drive from Barcelona. Highly recommend 😃
