Happy New Year! We are enjoying glorious sunshine and blue skies during the day but the nights are quite chilly... Doesn't matter when we have a huge wood burning stove to keep us cosy at night though!
We have been having fun picking fresh mandarins from our neighbour's orchard... followed by a hike up to see some caves and trenches used during the Spanish Civil War.

This looks interesting for a day trip... a tour of the olive oil cooperative in Viver.
On the way you could visit the historic town of Segorbe, or visit the springs in Montanejos.
Viver also has some lovely forest walks and mountain streams with pools for swimming.

This weekend's guests are Pablo and his family. They are coming up from Alicante because Pablo is participating in the Sierra Calderona marathon. I'm leaving out some of our own organic oranges picked fresh from the tree to give him an extra boost for the race!
