Dear Shirley,
We are followers of you on Facebook and have been for many years. We've been visiting Fornalutx since 2003, and since 2009 have had a house in the village, although our main home is in Belgium.
Recently my wife suggested that I try to sell some blank notelets/cards, with my sketches of the village on the front - and to donate the proceeds to the Soller Food Bank.
Fortunately, Lucia, the delightful proprietor of the boutique "Tipic" in the village enthusiastically embraced the idea, and not only gave me some space on her counter, but also volunteered to donate her commission to the food bank too.
We did a trial for a month to see what happened. We sold 20 cards at 3.50 each, so the first 70 Euros has been donated to the Food Bank. I restocked just yesterday with the most popular of the sketches, hoping that we can maintain that rate of sale throughout the season.
We know you like stories so thought we should share this with you.
