A delicious teppanyaki dinner at — an unforgettable experience!

We found all the restaurants at the resort to be excellent, with top-level service throughout.

But this live cooking performance was a wonderful surprise — both fun and impressive — and the quality of the ingredients was absolutely top-notch.

We’ve been fortunate to visit the UAE several times. These cities evolve every year, and the experience differs significantly between summer and winter. Summers are extremely hot, with outdoor activities mostly limited to early mornings or evenings. That said, with the right planning, it’s still a great time to visit — the cooling systems are excellent, and everywhere is fully equipped to handle the heat.

The temple holds profound spiritual and architectural symbolism; it was designed to be “read” as a three-dimensional mandala guiding visitors on a journey of self-discovery and spirituality.

Built around 850 AD, the construction is estimated to have taken approximately 75 years. It was erected without mortar, using only volcanic stone blocks precisely carved and perfectly assembled. This construction technique has allowed the temple to remain structurally intact through centuries, resilient to the tropical climate and natural disasters.

Borobudur consists of a series of terraces, each level reflecting a different aspect of Buddhist teachings and representing a step on the path toward wisdom and enlightenment.

Kamadhatu (the world of desire): This lower level represents the material plane, where beings are trapped by desire and attachment to earthly things. The reliefs illustrate the effects of karma.

Rupadhatu (the world of forms): The second level represents a higher plane, where beings have left worldly desires behind. The panels depict the teachings of Buddha.

Arupadhatu (the formless world): The upper level represents the abandonment of all forms and entry into nirvana, a state beyond ego and attachment.

At the summit of Borobudur lies the great central stupa, symbolizing the attainment of absolute enlightenment.

For Buddhists, Borobudur is a symbol of the quest for enlightenment and the transcendence of human limitations. It represents the spiritual journey from ignorance to knowledge, from attachment to detachment, and from suffering to inner peace. Each step a pilgrim takes toward the summit symbolizes the effort to leave behind desires and illusions in order to draw closer to truth and wisdom. The complexity and symbolism of Borobudur make this monument a profoundly spiritual site, a space that invites meditation, study, and reflection on the purpose and nature of existence.
