Super leuke wandeling aan het stuwmeer van Elche… op amper 35 minuten van Enora Garden. Zeker uitstapje waard. Je kan de wandeling kort houden op 4km en uitbreiden naar 12km of iets tussenbeide. 👍

DISCOVER THE SPECTACULAR PANTANO DE ELCHE!..
The Elche Dam known as the Pantano de Elche was built in the 17th century on the Vinalopó river as a means of retaining its waters. It was the first to be built in Europe in the shape of a vault, and is even considered the first arch-shaped dam built since Roman times. Today it has become a much loved hiking route for nature fans, due to its tranquil and picturesque ambiance. Waterfalls, streams, wooden bridges and local wildlife are some of the highlights you'll see along the way. The best place to park up and start is at Explanada del Pantano de Elche, Partida Carrus, 1256A, 03207, Alicante, where there will be signposts to guide you along the trail. Once you reach the dam, there are benches to stop for a rest, before continuing on your route. It is quite a steep climb to see the view at the top, though well worth the effort! Dogs are allowed on a lead, though unfortunately this route is not wheelchair accessible. De Rio Seco, gelegen op ongeveer dertig minuten van Enora Garden.
Deze kleine kloof, gevormd door een rivier die vaak droogvalt, biedt een spectaculair landschap van rotsformaties, kliffen die zijn gevormd door erosie en typische mediterrane vegetatie. Het is een perfecte plek voor een excursie om te genieten van de rust en schoonheid van de natuur.
De wandeling begint vaak bij Pinar de Campoverde, een klein, vredig dorpje in de buurt. Verschillende gemarkeerde paden leiden u door de kloof, met routes die zijn aangepast aan verschillende niveaus van wandelen. De hoofdwandeling volgt de droge rivierbedding en laat u indrukwekkende rotswanden, fossielen ingebed in de steen en soms zelfs kleine poelen water ontdekken na een periode van regen.
Het pad is relatief vlak en toegankelijk, waardoor het ideaal is voor kinderen. Sommige delen van het pad kunnen echter een beetje klimmen of balanceren vereisen, wat een vleugje avontuur toevoegt. De wandeling duurt ongeveer een tot twee uur, afhankelijk van het tempo en de pauzes om het landschap te bewonderen of foto's te maken.
Naast wandelen is Rio Seco een populaire plek voor fotografieliefhebbers dankzij de unieke kleuren en geologische formaties. Natuurliefhebbers kunnen ook de lokale fauna observeren, waaronder vogels en hagedissen. In de zomer is de locatie perfect voor een ochtendwandeling voordat de hitte te intens wordt.

Draag comfortabele schoenen, geschikt voor wandelingen op rotsachtig terrein.

Vermijd een bezoek na hevige regenval, omdat sommige delen glad kunnen zijn.
