Days 4, 5 6 and 7 of our Honeyguide Wildlife Holidays tour South of Salamanca have flown by, with visits to the Sierra de Francia, the city of Salamanca, Campo de Alba steppelands, the Sangusin valley, Quilamas Sierra and today the villages of Puente del Congosto and Neila de San Miguel just over the border in Avila. We've seen Great bustard, Montagu's harrier, Calandra and Short-toed larks, Black and Griffon vulture, Short-toed eagle, Melodious and Western Bonelli's warblers, Nightingale, Hoopoe, Cuckoo and Bee-eater, and much much more. Although it's been unseasonably cool for butterflies we've seen Iberian Sooty copper, Moroccan orange tip, Painted lady, Glanville, and Queen of Spain fritillaries amongst many others.
