Zu Besuch beim einem der letzten Korbflechter auf den Kanaren: Don Eulogio Concepción, Lanzarote. Sein Leben lang widmet er sich der aussterbenden Handwerkskunst. Er stellt Gefäße aus der Mittelrippe der langen Fiederblätter der Kanarischen Dattelpalme, man nennt das Material hier pírgano. Mit 93 Jahren ist er voller Leidenschaft für die traditionelle Korbflechterei. Für mich eine große Inspiration in Ausdauer, Bescheidenheit und Handwerkskunst.
Visiting one of the last basket weavers in the Canary Islands: Don Eulogio Concepción, Lanzarote. He has devoted his entire life to this dying craft. He makes baskets from the midribs of the leaves of the Canary Island date palm; the material is known locally as pírgano. At the age of 93, he remains passionate about traditional basket weaving. For me, he is a great inspiration in terms of perseverance, humility and craftsmanship.
