This is one of those Tenerife views that makes you stop for a second 🌲🌋

A sea of pine trees, clouds drifting through the forest and Mount Teide rising in the background like som**hing from another planet.

Teide is the highest peak in Spain and one of the most iconic symbols of the Canary Islands. But what makes this view special is the contrast: green forest below, white clouds in the middle and volcanic landscape above.

It’s the kind of scene that reminds you Tenerife is much more than beaches. The island has forests, mountain roads, viewpoints, volcanic trails and landscapes that change completely in just a short drive.

Would you stop here for the view? 🌄

Santa Cruz has temporarily closed the access road to Playa de Las Gaviotas after rockfalls were reported on the route down to the beach.

Municipal technicians are already in the area assessing the situation, with the closure being treated as a preventive safety measure while the risk is checked. The road is often affected by falling rocks due to the instability of the surrounding Anaga cliffs, so authorities have moved to avoid putting beachgoers and drivers in danger. 🚧

For now, anyone planning to visit Las Gaviotas should avoid the area and wait for official updates before heading there. 🌊

A man has been arrested in Tenerife after police say he allegedly harassed, threatened and violated the privacy of a woman through repeated messages and several phone lines. 🚨

According to Diario de Avisos, the investigation began after the victim filed a complaint. Officers from the Policía Nacional and the Policía Canaria later carried out a joint operation, with a court-authorised search at the suspect’s home in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

During the search, agents reportedly found several mobile phones, digital memory devices, documents, SIM cards and phone lines, some allegedly linked to prepaid cards registered under false identities. Police also located photo files related to the victim on different electronic devices.

A small amount of drugs and a precision scale were also seized during the operation.

After appearing before the judge, precautionary measures were ordered, including a restraining order and a ban on contacting the victim.

Another disturbing case that shows how digital harassment can quickly become a serious police matter. Follow Repeat Tenerife for more local updates from the island. 📲

🚨 A bar owner in Las Américas has been arrested after police found a large stash of suspected drugs and nitrous oxide during inspections at two nightlife venues in Las Verónicas.

The operation was carried out by National Police with Arona Local Police on 24th and 25th May, as part of routine checks and crime prevention work in one of Tenerife’s busiest party areas.

According to police, officers found substances prepared for sale in a staff-only area of one venue, including suspected co***ne, crystal m**h, M**A, ecstasy, pink co***ne and ma*****na.

At a second premises, officers discovered 12 balloon gas dispensers and five boxes of nitrous oxide, with a total of 2,376 single-use capsules.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, has become increasingly common in nightlife areas, especially among younger people, despite health warnings about serious risks when misused.

The owner of one of the venues was arrested on suspicion of a public health offence linked to drug trafficking.

Local authorities have also referred the findings from both venues to Arona Town Hall for further review. 👮‍♂️

Puerto de la Cruz is one step closer to saying goodbye to its long-abandoned old bus station.

The Town Hall has now secured the full €5.6 million needed to demolish the former station, with €4.1 million coming from a municipal budget modification and another €1.5 million from the Canary Islands Government. If the process moves ahead without delays, work could begin before the end of 2026.

The demolition is considered technically complex because of the size of the structure and its central location, and the works are expected to take around 18 months. The site has been sitting unused for nearly two decades in the heart of the city.

Looking ahead, the 15,000-square-metre plot is planned to be transformed into a major new space for Puerto de la Cruz, with proposals including a large public square, an auditorium and multifunctional building, public and commercial buildings, and 900 parking spaces across three levels.

The funding decision has also sparked political debate, with opposition voices criticising the wider budget move, while the local government insists the investment is necessary and could become one of the most important urban changes in the city in years.

Santa Cruz will close several municipal offices on 12 June because of the planned visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Tenerife capital.

The City Council says the measure is part of the wider organisation and mobility plan for the day, with authorities trying to reduce unnecessary journeys and keep the city moving safely during the visit.

The closure will affect the municipal registration assistance offices, district offices, the consumer information office and several other council departments. Online services, remote assistance and the electronic office will remain available so residents can still complete procedures without attending in person.

The council also plans to encourage remote working where possible, helping reduce traffic and pressure around the city while security and logistics teams manage what is expected to be a major event for Santa Cruz.

Residents who need to deal with the council on 12 June are advised to check the municipal website first and use online channels where possible.

A 23-year-old British man has been remanded in custody without bail after a fatal fight in Las Verónicas, Playa de las Américas.

According to Canarian Weekly, the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday in one of Tenerife’s busiest nightlife areas. The victim, a 37-year-old British holidaymaker, died after reportedly becoming involved in a fight with another British man.

The suspect appeared before the Arona court on Saturday, where a judge ordered provisional custody while the case is investigated as an alleged homicide.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but paramedics were unable to save the victim’s life. Reports say security staff from nearby venues restrained the alleged attacker until National Police officers arrived.

The case has once again raised concerns about safety, violence and late-night disorder in Las Verónicas, an area often linked with nightlife tourism in the south of Tenerife.
