Part 2 is here 🎢

Josh continues his family’s Orlando trip with a closer look at accessibility across the parks, focusing on both what worked well and where the experience fell short.

This part dives into getting to and around Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, including transport to the parks, movement between areas, and navigating accessibility once inside.

From smooth moments to unexpected challenges, it’s an honest breakdown of how accessible the experience really feels on the ground, especially when you’re relying on assistance and park transport systems day to day.

Could this be one of the best wheelchair accessible walks in the Peak District? 🌿♿

📍Tideswell Dale absolutely surprised us. A peaceful, mostly flat route with beautiful woodland, a flowing stream, dramatic limestone cliffs, and the relaxing sounds of birds and water the entire way round.

It’s the kind of place where you can properly switch off and enjoy nature without needing to tackle steep hills.

Things to know before visiting:

♿ Mostly flat accessible trail
🚻 Disabled toilet nearby
🅿️ Uneven car park surface in places

Definitely one of the most peaceful accessible walks we’ve done in the Peak District.

PART 2: Accessible Bakewell & Monsal Trail Adventure 🚗✨

We’re back in Bakewell exploring the town and heading out to the Monsal Trail—scenic views, fresh air, and a proper Peak District day out… let’s get the brakes off 🚗♿

Bakewell was lively and full of charm. Some pavements are smoother than others, but we took our time and really enjoyed exploring. We stopped at the iconic Bakewell Pudding Shop—step-free, super welcoming, and the pudding? 10/10 😍 We parked at the Farmers Market (paid parking, but really convenient for the centre).

Next up was Hassop Station to join the Monsal Trail. There’s bike hire available, but it’s worth checking ahead if you need adaptive options. The trail itself is a dream—wide, smooth, and genuinely one of the most accessible routes we’ve come across 🙌

To reach those iconic viaduct views, you can either roll for around an hour or drive to Monsal Head Car Park. There are disabled bays, but they’re not free and it was quite busy when we arrived—but the views? Absolutely worth it 🌄
The path to the viewpoint is a little uneven in places, so take it steady, but it’s manageable and the payoff is huge.

Right next to it is Monsal Head Hotel, where you get an even more elevated view across the valley. It’s a great, easy spot to pause and soak it all in—just note there isn’t step-free access back onto the trail from here.

Bakewell and the Monsal Valley are genuinely stunning and well worth adding to your list if you’re exploring the Peak District ♿✨
