Esta casa palacio de estilo barroco fue construida originalmente en el siglo XVII y completamente restaurada en 1993

por Rafael Manzano, el único arquitecto español que ha ganado el prestigioso premio Richard H. Al atravesar su impresionante portón de madera la simple visión de sus patios nos traslada a otro tiempo y nos llena una inigualable experiencia de calma. La vida en esta fabulosa propiedad, una auténtica y tradicional casa Sevillana, gira alrededor de dos bellos patios y sus magníficas azoteas. El patio principal está rodeado de un soportal formado por impresionantes columnas romanas y artesonado de madera. Adornado por una preciosa fuente de mármol; un toldo mecanizado que se cierra y se abre con la salida y puesta del sol, lo mantiene fresco en las horas más calurosas. Los patios proporcionan una agradable temperatura y una preciosa luz natural a todas las habitaciones. Casa Palacio San José está situada en una zona privilegiada, entre los dos barrios sevillanos más emblemáticos: Santa Cruz y La Judería, frente al convento de clausura Madre de Dios del siglo XV y muy cerca de la bella sinagoga Santa María La Blanca (SXIII), patrimonio histórico de Andalucía. Desde los balcones del salón se puede disfrutar de algunas procesiones en Semana Santa. Su excelente localización combina la tranquilidad con la animada vida del centro. A solamente cinco minutos andando están la Giralda, la Catedral, los Reales Alcázares, los Jardines de Murillo, etc. y restaurantes, bares de tapas, supermercados, mercadillos y tablaos. También muy cerca está el Parque de María Luisa. A diez minutos en coche está la estación de Santa Justa, desde donde el tren de alta velocidad AVE puede llevarle a Madrid en tan sólo dos horas y media.

The Casa Hija de la Giralda bears this name as homage to the neighboring convent of noon cloister (XV century) whose roofs are observed from the terrace. In this convent lived the legendary Sor Bárbara, “The daughter of the Giralda” named for being the daughter of the bellman of the Giralda and having been born and lived there until she became a nun.

This original Baroque seventeenth-century manor survived many transformations, until it was acquired in 1990 by its current owners, who entrusted it to the talented hands of internationally-renowned and prestigious architect Rafael Manzano Martos, who undertook the complete rehabilitation of the house, acquired in full ruin status. Mr. Manzano recovered the original splendor of the building, respecting the plans, style and distribution of the old house.

After the restoration the building has been protected by the Especial Protection Plan from the Historic Conjunto from Sevilla by they interest historic an arquitectural. After entering the home through the huge wooden doors, you’re welcome by a forged-iron gate, made without any welds, originally from a convent founded by Saint Teresa de Jesús on Zaragoza Street (Sevilla). A Roman bathtub made from a single piece of marble has been converted into a fountain with a terracota lion head spout, and two Roman busts on either side. A giant cocotero (coconut tree), one of the many flowering trees in the property, grows up the side of the patio, full of beautiful plants. The main patio is surrounded by a gallery of old Roman columns that rest on lead discs. A lovely marble center fountain fills the afternoons with a gentle water song. A mechanical patio awning automatically closes and opens with the rising and the setting of the sun, keeping the patio nice and cool.

A covered terraced on the rooftop, furnished with comfortable sofa and chairs, offers the opportunity to enjoy a view of the Giralda while reading or enjoying afternoon tea. Another terrace, covered with an attractive pergola and furnished with a table and chairs, offers magnificent views of the tile rooftops of the Sevilla historic center. The irregular shape and layout of this apartment follow the original plans. The living area consists of the impressive dining room, the living room with a round table, a comfortable and spacious sofa, reading corner, TV, DVD and piano, and the library, with an antique desk, bookshelves and seating areas. The kitchen apartment and bedrooms are located around the interior courtyard. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have separate dressing rooms.
