As both my daughters are frantically using a few days to spruce up their Villa so that it’s pristine for the coming very busy season I thought I would pop in to say “hello” and hopefully put your minds at rest if you are in anyway concerned about how the British press are reporting anti tourist action in Lanzarote.
May I sum it up in a polite way? Bull S..T!

Yes there is a desperate housing shortage in Lanzarote but this has been caused by successive leaders failing to provide adequate housing for the workers who are vital for an island that is dependent on tourism. Unfortunately greed is the main problem. Lining of pockets instead of sensible long term planning; the provision of sensibly priced long term accommodation.
Slowly folk in power are waking up but these demonstrations were necessary to illustrate the crisis which is happening NOW. Concerned people who live on the island are trying to wake up politicians to this worrying concern they are absolutely not against tourism please rest assured
Another concern is legal rental licencing--- please be aware that all LVDs properties are meticulously maintained to ensure that we cover all legalities. All our properties have tourist licences.

It’s great to see regular friends returning year after year, Jeeps we have being selling villa holidays for over 35 years living on this fabulous island for nearly thirty. I know I’m OLD!!

Well, Mother has been at it again - taking one for the team and saving us all the hassle of lunching out and having to report back.. Its a tough job but luckily for us she stepped up to the challenge 😉😆

Good news our lovely Nazaret clients 😁😁No difficulty in finding it as you have probably been before - On the right as you enter Nazaret...

About 10 years ago we had cracking restaurant there but they relocated to Canada. I went today with friends; treated too!I We arrived early and were greeted most warmly by Maria the co-owner. The menu is exciting, different and reasonably priced. They have relocated from Fuerteventura where they had a great name.

We had a mixture of sharing plates but confess to sneaking a peek at other plates coming out of the kitchen; the beef burger looked stunning - definitely would go down well with the grandkids.

[editors note: I hope to confirm that once we are also "treated" 🥰]

Hopefully at last... dinner in the evening within easy walking from our villas in Nazaret 🙏

Normally we suggest restaurants with a fabulous location.... this one is in Costa Teguise on a main road but dont be put off.

Restaurante el Avda Mar.

I have special friends on the island who are food specialists, they are raving about it and frequent it regularly.
The menu is extensive and the portions over generous but best of all its very fairly priced.
The chef outstanding, the service friendly and enthusiastic, I highly recommend a visit.
Two of our clients have already given it a rave r***e.
Let me know what you think, its absolutely brilliant if you have a party with big appetites 😋

Just in case you were thinking Aly and myself were on a diet you thought wrong. She hasn’t been too well but I am happy to report we are now back on the restaurant search.
As you are probably aware finding decent eateries at lunch time isn’t easy, hence our ‘research’
Getting staff over here is an absolute nightmare at the moment as there is absolutely no accommodation for renting. It was therefore absolutely delightful to eat at Mamma Grazia’s and find happy smiling staff.
This little gem is in Punta Mujeres directions and opening times in Google of course.
We went in for a quick and easy lunch but last night regular clients staying in our casita went for dinner and were really impressed.
They opted for the more specialised dishes and yes they had to wait for a while but as it was freshly prepared in front of them and the result was worth the wait. They are certainly visiting again before returning home.
I have taken the grandkids, they were more than happy.
Worth a try.

I´ve been very naughty - i´ve been so busy booking holidays for you all that I forgot to wish you all a Happy Christmas 🫨🫨. that sounds corny as hell I admit - and I own it lol. Although to be fair its actually the truth - we are already about 80% booked up for next year!
Fear not, as there is news on the horizon - a new property that is joining the stable.... Watch this space.....☺️

In the meantime let me take this opportunity between feeding the kids, pouring a glass (bottle) of wine and then having an early night before cleaning villas tomorrow... to say Happy New Year to everyone- thank you for following this page, thank you for all your wonderful comments, and thank you for supporting a small family business that always promises to keep the personal touch and make your holidays that little bit more special.

The chiringuito (beach bar and restaurant) in Arrieta was demolished last month by order of the Haria Ayuntamiento. Apparently this popular meeting place which opened in 1998 only had a two year lease and the permission has not been renewed for 23 years!
I know many of our clients will sadly miss this little treasure. So many of us enjoying perhaps a coffee gin or tapas while watching the kids safely having fun on the beach. It actually was awarded a blue flag status a few years ago but sadly due to neglect of the facilities it was withdrawn.
I personally was concerned when the decision was made to close access to the car park adjacent to the beach and turn it into a basketball court. Many older and disabled people were able to have relatively easy beach access. Who is responsible for making these crazy decisions?
Word has it that a new facilities are being built. Watch this space!
I will just have to supervise beach activity from the mojito bar 😎!!!!
