Lucena – Andalucía’s craft town
Tucked beneath the undulating hills of Córdoba’s Subbética region, Lucena is a town that rarely appears on the traditional traveller’s map, and that’s precisely what makes it so compelling. Known as the Perla de Sefarad, or “Pearl of Sepharad,” Lucena once stood as a beacon of Jewish learning and craftsmanship in medieval Spain.

Explore Lucena, a historic town of Jewish heritage, artisan crafts, and rich culture. A quiet gem in Andalucía’s Subbética, perfect for slow travel.

From Granada to Guadix
Just 45 minutes east of Granada, beyond the Sierra de Huétor’s rugged folds, lies a town often missed by those rushing between the Alhambra and the Alpujarra. But Guadix is no ordinary detour. It offers something far rarer, a still-authentic pocket of Andalucian life where the landscape and lifestyle have evolved together over centuries.

Escape the crowds with a day trip to Guadix from Granada. Explore cave homes, historic landmarks, and Andalucian charm beyond the usual trail.

SEMANA SANTA - HOLY WEEK - in Spain is the traditional summary of the story of the passion of Christ in the build up to Easter Day. In a country steeped in the Catholic tradition, this sacred week is a spectacle to behold for any of our guests during this sacred time. This week we have guests in Madrid, Bilbao, Seville, Granada and Ronda.

Today we find ourselves in Jerez de la Frontera, soaking up the local traditions and scouting out restaurants and hotels for future guests.

The traditions leave no guests indifferent as brotherhoods carry and accompany their historical statues of the Virgin Mary and Christ through the streets of Spain. It is an all encompassing experience that is a joy to capture through the lens. It is passion played out on the street ls of Spain and a wonder to behold.
