🚨 IMPORTANT INFO FOR TOURISTS RENTING CARS IN SPAIN! 🚨

Planning a trip to sunny Spain and thinking of renting a car? As of January 1st, 2026, new road safety regulations have come into effect, applying to every vehicle registered in Spain – including rental cars!

What you need to know: Traditional warning triangles have been replaced by V-16 emergency lights with geolocation. These smart devices, which attach to the car roof (without you having to leave the vehicle!), automatically send your location to the Spanish traffic authorities (DGT) in case of a breakdown or emergency.

Always check: When picking up your rental car, make sure it is equipped with a V-16 emergency light featuring DGT 3.0 connectivity. Not having one could result in a fine!

Hundreds of Sails on the Horizon! ⛵️ XVII Euromarina Optimist Trophy Starts Late January!

Torrevieja is once again becoming the capital for young sailors! From January 29th to February 1st, 2026, the Real Club Náutico Torrevieja will host one of Europe's most prestigious regattas for the Optimist class – the Euromarina Optimist Trophy.

It’s an amazing chance to see over 400 young talents from dozens of countries battling the Mediterranean waves. The best view of the starts, straight out of a dream about a great adventure, will be from Dique de Levante (our long breakwater).

Get ready for one of the most spectacular astronomical events of the decade! For all lovers of Spain and breathtaking views, we have some exciting news. On August 12, 2026, the sky over parts of Spain will become the stage for a rare and stunning event – a total solar eclipse!

Although there is still some time left, it’s worth planning your trip now to witness this incredible phenomenon. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon perfectly covers the sun's disk, plunging the day into a brief twilight and revealing the solar corona – an extraordinary, pearly halo that is normally invisible to the naked eye.
