I haven't posted for a while; we have been kept exceptionally busy throughout the winter months with lovely guests. We are now getting quieter as we enter spring and move towards summer, all the snowbirds have gone back home. And I wanted to take the opportunity to address a couple of unusually negative reviews we have received, not something I would normally react to, as we are all allowed an honest opinion, but I felt compelled to respond to these two:

It looks nicer in the pictures than it actually is. It's located outside the property, next to the fields. It smells unpleasant. Even though the owners are nice, we won't be coming back.
Very strange as it looks exactly like it does in the pictures, we haven’t used images that are not of our property, or used any Ai to enhance or modify the images, so maybe it was that the sun wasn’t shining when they came, does happen sometimes, as does the rain. And yes the parking area is outside the property, as clearly shown in the photos. As for the smell, not sure what they refer to but we are in the country so from time to time there may be some smells from the agricultural activities.

On-street parking next to the house entrance. There is no fencing. There is an electricity and water outlet outside the house. Friendly owners who don't speak Spanish and sell very good homemade jam. Price: €10 + €2.50 for electricity + €3 for jam = €15.50
Again very strange review regarding the location for the parking of motorhomes, and of course it is not “on-street parking” but parking on our land outside the property as clearly shown in the images. And as for fencing, there is none shown in the photos, nor is any required, unless some people feel safer in a cage. And no we do not speak Spanish at home, we are English.
My advice to any motorhomer owner is to look at the destination you have decided to book, or turn up at without a reservation, and read the descriptions and look at the photos. Sometimes we are asked where the nearest shops are, or can they walk to a bar, the information is there.
We look forward to welcoming many more happy campers to Rico’s Retreat during 2025, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate contact me.
There are many photos on the P4N app, please take a look.
