When the parents recommend you… ♥️

Over the years, we’ve welcomed so many guests who found us through recommendations from previous guests. And although all those compliments still make us a little shy… there really is nothing nicer than welcoming these “word-of-mouth” guests!

Jelle booked a private bike tour with his four good friends. And then I discovered that Jelle’s parents had visited us just a few months earlier with their friends on exactly the same kind of private tour!

So these five young men, all around 20, decided to follow in their parents’ footsteps. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, humour and the great and sometimes surprisingly deep conversations over a drink along the way made this tour extra special.

These are the moments that make me love my job. Those moments when I think: *“Wow, what an amazing group!”*

Thank you, guys! I really hope to see you again in Valencia someday. ☀️

Today’s foodie tip from June! 🍖

“Are you, like me, mindful about not eating meat every day? I fully support that. But… every now and then, when truly special friends come to visit, I allow myself a little indulgence. And that’s when we head to the “Temple of Meat,” as they proudly call themselves: The Rebel Pigs, tucked away in the old heart of Valencia.

Chef Carlos Montero Rios is a trúe master of the grill, with a deep respect for seasonal produce. At The Rebel Pigs, they champion the sustainable enjoyment of high-quality ingredients. And that philosophy?
I am totally in! 💃🏽

We ordered a selection of dishes to share: homemade croquettes from oxtail and Iberian ham, a Rebel burrata salade, crispy pork cracklings, a traditional pork belly dish, Txistorra sausages infused with smoky Pimentón de la Vera from the Basque Country, and of course… a beautiful cut of Wagyu that quite literally melts in your mouth.

And perhaps the most striking feature of The Rebel Pigs: the visible ageing chamber, where cuts of meat are left to mature to perfection, paired with the genuine enthusiasm of the staff, who passionately guide you through the ageing process and even let you choose your own cut.

You’ll find The Rebel Pigs at Carrer dels Borges 4, in the beautiful El Carmen district.

Did you know Valencia is full of amázing street art? 🎨

Here I’m standing in front of a huge mural on a school in the small village of Calles, about an hour from the city. Isn’t it beautiful? And so big!

But don’t worry...you don’t have to leave Valencia to see great street art. It’s all over the city! Especially in El Carmen, in the old town, where you’ll find murals on almost every corner.

From bold graffiti to cute and creative artwork; there’s something for everyone. Some pieces have been there for years, while others change all the time.

So even if you’ve been to Valencia before… you’ll always discover something new!

Come to Valencia and (my tip) turn off your maps. Just wander around the small streets and let yourself get lost… that’s where you’ll find the best street art! 🧡

Sunshine in Valencia with Iris and Jeroen!☀️

This lovely Dutch couple stayed in one of our cozy city-center apartments (everything within walking distance) and decided to explore the city the fun way… by bike! 🚲

What happens when two couples jump on bikes to explore Valencia together? Pure fun from the very first minute! 🚲

Suzan and Daan booked their bike tour with us a while ago, and just one day before the tour Peter and Alie decided to join as well. The result? The most ‘gezellige’ little group you could imagine!

Together we cycled through the city, the beautiful Turia Park, and the impressive City of Arts and Sciences. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the good vibes were there from the very first minute. What a fantastic group!
