Did you know Valencia is full of amázing street art? 🎨

Here I’m standing in front of a huge mural on a school in the small village of Calles, about an hour from the city. Isn’t it beautiful? And so big!

But don’t worry...you don’t have to leave Valencia to see great street art. It’s all over the city! Especially in El Carmen, in the old town, where you’ll find murals on almost every corner.

From bold graffiti to cute and creative artwork; there’s something for everyone. Some pieces have been there for years, while others change all the time.

So even if you’ve been to Valencia before… you’ll always discover something new!

Come to Valencia and (my tip) turn off your maps. Just wander around the small streets and let yourself get lost… that’s where you’ll find the best street art! 🧡

Sunshine in Valencia with Iris and Jeroen!☀️

This lovely Dutch couple stayed in one of our cozy city-center apartments (everything within walking distance) and decided to explore the city the fun way… by bike! 🚲

Last Saturday we had three different groups of three… joining our bike tour through Valencia 🚲

What happens when two couples jump on bikes to explore Valencia together? Pure fun from the very first minute! 🚲

Suzan and Daan booked their bike tour with us a while ago, and just one day before the tour Peter and Alie decided to join as well. The result? The most ‘gezellige’ little group you could imagine!

Together we cycled through the city, the beautiful Turia Park, and the impressive City of Arts and Sciences. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the good vibes were there from the very first minute. What a fantastic group!

Six years ago, Prisca and Harry discovered the magic of Valencia for the very first time. They stayed in one of our cozy city-centre apartments and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere, the sunshine, the relaxed Mediterranean vibe…

🦇 Hola! I’m Sjors. Yes, that Sjors. Professional bat. Loyal companion to my human. Honorary (and very aerodynamic) member of Cantatekoor Wageningen.

And let me tell you… we had the most legendary adventure in Valencia!

We went on a cycling tour with Get Involved Valencia and wow! Sun shining, orange trees glowing, choir friends laughing, wheels spinning…

But then… I started noticing something. Everywhere. On flags. On ancient gates. On souvenirs. On the city’s coat of arms.

A bat.

Not just any bat; my people. My Valencian cousins. A symbol of the city itself! 🦇

Naturally, I demanded the full legend.

… Long long ago, when knights wore armor and kingdoms were claimed with swords, King Jaume I was preparing to retake Valencia. The night before a decisive battle, as the king rested in his tent, a bat flew in.

Some say I (well, one of my heroic ancestors) landed on a war drum the night before battle and started drumming! The noise warned the king of a surprise attack, saving the city.

Thanks to me… sorry, my ancestor… the attack was stopped, the battle was won, and Valencia was reclaimed.

And from that day on, the bat became a symbol of protection, courage, and victory. 👊🏾

So imagine me. I was returning to my ancestral homeland. I felt like a hero and I like to believe I heard whispers; “Welcome home, Sjors”.

Before Hilda and her family headed south on their big adventure, she kicked things off with a bike tour! Ine and Jan happily joined before setting sail on their Mediterranean cruise and then… surprise! John and Jacky spotted us cycling by and spontaneously decided to jump in on the fun.

And just like that, the party grew! 🎉

We wanted to get a beautiful first impression of Valencia in just one day. When we went to rent our bikes, we noticed there was a tour happening, but unfortunately, we hadn’t signed up. Then, by pure luck, we ran into guide June along the way and were able to join her group on the spot!

Marco and Franklin discovered our beautiful little city while stopping here on a cruise 🚢.
And wow… what a joy it was to explore Valencia with these two legends!

Together we biked past historic highlights, cruised through the famous Turia Park 🌴🚲 and of course admired the stunning modern City of Arts & Sciences.

Wow… what an absolutely amazing weekend with our Dutch guests Debby, Nicole, Ron and Willem!
This hilarious foursome didn’t just book a private bike tour, they also joined us for a hike the very next day ⛰️.

Their wish?
Not too much driving, a good dose of adrenaline, and lots of fun.
Consider it done and let´s go Get Involved Valencia style!

Just 40 minutes from the city, these mountain goats conquered a mountain followed by a breathtaking sunset, drinks and our homemade Get Involved tapas. From start to finish: pure joy.

Big shout-out to the 28 absolute legends of SV Otterlo! ⚽

Last Thursday, the 28 players of the club’s First Team arrived in Valencia for their annual team trip, ready to take on the city in true SV Otterlo style.

After a long, lively and unforgettable evening, the squad wasted no time and were already back in action with an early football training session the very next day. Commitment at its finest! After their training session they levelled up and went for a bike tour. 💪

Guided by guides Paul & June, with a mandatory terrace stop of course, the squad showed how team spirit is done. The weekend wrapped up at where the ever- enthusiastic Miguel welcomed us like family and the lads battled it out in a fiercely competitive quiz. Pride was on the line!

SV Otterlo, Mulligan’s and everyone involved: what. a. team. what. a. weekend. You were absolutely amazing.
