🎪 Circ Voramar – Free Circus Festival by the Sea
Valencia's biggest free circus festival returns! 🎪🚲

From August 28 – September 6, the 11th Circ Voramar transforms Valencia's maritime neighbourhoods into a giant open-air stage. 25 free performances – acrobatics, juggling, clown shows, and physical theatre – will take over Tinglado 2 at La Marina, Mercado del Cabanyal, Escorxador cultural centre, and Reina 121 among other spots.

🚲 Why ride there? Performances are spread across multiple venues along the waterfront – biking lets you hop between shows easily. Skip the parking stress, enjoy the sea breeze, and make it a perfect family-friendly day out!

Extreme Heat Alert – Ride Smart Tomorrow! 🚴‍♂️🔥

Valencia is under a red extreme heat warning tomorrow (Aug 19) with highs of 42–44°C lasting through Aug 20.

Please follow these safety tips:

⏰ Avoid riding 11 AM – 5 PM – choose early morning (7–9 AM) or after 7 PM instead.

💧 Hydrate constantly – drink 500‑750 ml per hour, even if not thirsty. Add electrolytes to your water.

🧴 Protect yourself – apply SPF 30+ sunscreen, wear glasses, and cover your neck and ears.

🛑 Rest in the shade every 45‑60 minutes – cool your neck and arms with water.

⚠️ Forest fire alert – cycling is prohibited on forest tracks in natural parks (e.g., Serra Calderona). Stick to urban and coastal routes.

🚨 Watch for symptoms – dizziness, nausea, or cramps mean stop, find shade, and hydrate. Call 112 if severe.

🎆La Gran Nit – Free Museum & Monument Night
Date: Saturday, July 18

La Gran Nit (The Great Night) is one of the most magical evenings of the Feria de Julio. From 8 PM until midnight, museums and monuments across Valencia open their doors for free – including IVAM, Casa Museo Benlliure, Palacio de Cervelló, La Lonja, and the City History Museum.

Beyond the museums, 6 main squares (Ayuntamiento, Virgen, Reina, Mercado Central, and more) host live music, magic shows, circus acts, jazz, and children's entertainment – some running until 2 AM.

⛵Virgen del Carmen – The Sea Procession
Date: Thursday, July 16

Virgen del Carmen is Valencia's most important maritime festival, honouring the patron saint of sailors. In the coastal neighbourhoods of El Cabanyal, El Grau, and Malvarrosa, locals carry a statue of the Virgin on a beautifully decorated fishing boat, parading along the shore with music, flowers, and solemn blessings.

It's a deeply traditional, colourful, and authentic Valencian celebration – and a great way to experience the city's seafaring soul.

Feria de Julio 2026 Kicks Off – Ride to the Opening Night! 🎆🚲

Valencia‘s biggest summer festival starts July 1 with the spectacular opening show “OR, xata!” – a symphonic dreamscape at Plaza del Ayuntamiento celebrating 155 years of Feria history, complete with a fireworks display by Pirotecnia Penyarroja. Over the next 26 days, nearly 300 free activities will spread across 14 neighborhoods – music, theater, kids’ shows, fireworks every Saturday, and the iconic Batalla de Flores (Battle of Flowers) on July 26.
