La Pelosa - definitely the best chiringuito on the Costa Brava.
This is a fabulous place for a long lunch in a lovely little cove with crystal blue waters. The paella is outstanding but all seafood options are also amazing. Crab, squid, octopus, local fish plus some meat options. La Pelosa is best reached by boat. You can also drive there but as it is in the Natural Reserve of Cap de Creus, you need to have a reservation in the high summer months to access it via the dirt track road. If you come by boat the restaurant will organise your mooring in the cove and ferry you to the restaurant in a small dinghy. When it gets busier in the height of the summer season and you haven’t been able to reserve a table, they can still bring the paella out to your boat! No boat? Mas Moli Petit can organise one for you quite easily with or without a skipper and then you can enjoy some snorkelling in one of the calitas (little coves) before a fab lunch at La Pelosa. The restaurant is actually only a few hundred metres from where El Bulli was based until 2011 and although they are totally different propositions, El Bulli was here for a reason and you have the most wonderful setting on the Costa Brava. La Pelosa has a cool hippy rockstar feel to it - like it was founded in the sixties and Mick Jagger and Warren Beatty were regulars and we are pretty sure that if this restaurant was on Pamplona/ St. Tropez beach, you would have no chance of getting a booking. In fact, La Pelosa started as a simple chiringuito (beach bar and restaurant) in 2005 and has been going strong ever since. Great day out!
