One month ago… we arrived in Spain. 🇪🇸
And honestly, we had no idea how much our lives were about to change.
We left behind our home, jobs, routine and everything familiar, packed up our life, and drove towards something completely unknown:
Our new home.
Our new country.
Our new chapter.
And what a first month it’s been. 😂
We arrived in the middle of the Spanish heat and quickly discovered that “I love the sunshine” and “I love living in 35-degree heat” are two very different things! 🥵☀️
Then, just as we thought we were getting the hang of Spanish life…
our kitchen and living room flooded. 💦😂
Apparently, Spain wanted to make sure we were properly initiated.
There have been moments of chaos, frustration and standing in the middle of the house thinking:
“What have we actually done?”
Everything is new — the house, the country, the language, the systems and all those everyday things you never think about until you have to figure them out from scratch.
But then we look outside and see the sunshine, palm trees, blue skies, the sea and those slower mornings.
And suddenly, we remember:
This is why we did it.
Big changes don’t always feel exciting while you’re living through them. Sometimes they feel scary, messy and completely overwhelming.
But then, amongst the chaos, you stop, take a breath, look around and realise:
We actually did it.
The dream we talked about for years is now our everyday life.
We didn’t know exactly how it would look, and we certainly didn’t have “flood the living room” on our Spanish bingo card! 😂
But we knew we wanted something different — more time, more freedom, more life — and the courage to start again.
So, one month in, are we settled? Not quite.
Do we have everything figured out? Absolutely not. 😂
Would we do it all again?
In a heartbeat.
Because this isn’t just a holiday or an escape. It’s the beginning of a completely new chapter.
There will be more challenges, surprises and probably a few more moments of “Oh God…” 😂
But there will also be more sunsets, adventures, laughter and memories — and hopefully, a lot less water in the living room.
One month down.
A lifetime of possibilities ahead.

No regrets.
Just gratitude.
And the feeling that maybe, just maybe, we finally found the courage to live the life we dreamed about.
