Very excited and committed to this ambitious project. What if we find a way to eradicate the scabies in wild populations?

🇺🇸 HUNTING & CONSERVATION | SPHA and Fundacion Artemisan are leading an ambitious research project focused on the study, control, and potential eradication of sarcoptic mange in wild ungulate populations. The program is structured into several phases and has an overall budget exceeding €400,000. At present, the project is in the fundraising stage to launch the initial phases of the study, with the first donations already secured thanks to the interest and support of hunters and various collaborating organizations.

While governments do nothing, claiming that finding a treatment is too difficult, and while many “ecologists” seem to believe that only the strongest animals should survive, the truth is that the Beceite subspecies is in danger of disappearing. Once again, hunters are the only ones taking action, joining together privately to start an ambitious study aimed at finding a cure for sarcoptic mange in wild populations. So, what is the point of waiting for governments or pseudo-ecologists? Clearly, none at all...

🇺🇸 HUNTING & CONSERVATION: The most significant conservation project currently undertaken by SPHA is the study of sarcoptic mange in wild ungulates. This disease has had a particularly severe impact on populations of Cantabrian chamois, as well as on several subpopulations of Spanish ibex, including those in Ronda, Sierra Nevada, and, more recently, Beceite. In this last, the mortality rates in certain outbreak areas may have exceeded 80%. Although the project was initially prompted by the serious impact observed in this latter population nucleus, its broader objective is to advance the understanding, treatment, and potential control of the disease across all affected wild populations. In love with these kind of hunting scenes! The mating season happens in November-December for all the Spanish ibex, so this is when the females pick all the attention of the males that surround them and wait for a chance. As usual, and as it happens with many other hunting species, the rut is a very good moment to chase them.

🇺🇸 SPANISH GAME | The Spanish ibex stands, without question, as one of the most iconic symbols of Iberian wildlife and is widely regarded as the most sought-after trophy species among both domestic and international hunters. Endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, it inhabits its principal mountain ranges, where four distinct morphotypes are traditionally recognized: Gredos, Beceite, Southeastern, and Ronda.

As part of the SPHA - Spanish Professional Hunters Association, Spainsafaris takes part in two different committees such as Conservation and Communication. However, this is only about our daily work, but our commitment goes further. It is our responsibility to take the good name of Spain as a hunting destination to the highest, and it means caring of sustainable and legal hunting as the only way.

🇺🇸 SPHA PULSE | The organization of SPHA is structured around a Board of Directors and the leadership of various committees organized by fields of action. These include Conservation, Awards, Ethics, and Communications. The members of this Association are the ones who assume positions of responsibility, either by serving on the Board of Directors or by leading the thematic committees themselves.

On the beautiful island of Mallorca, there is a type of hunt we must not overlook, and we strongly emphasize this: the Balearean boc. It’s not just the beauty of the trophy or its hide, but the spectacle of the hunt itself. A good hunt in Mallorca can easily surpass the challenging harvest of any other Spanish species. As always, it simply comes down to choosing a good hunting area where the game offered is pure. Pure hunting and nothing more.

Adam .safari.consultants experienced all of this a few days ago when he came to us thanks to a donation we made to the Pope & Young archery club . The result, once again, is not only a unique and beautiful trophy, but also how it was obtained, through a complete and truly epic hunt, and rewarding like no other.

The future of hunting is at stake, and now more than ever, we must join forces to promote sustainable hunting as the most effective tool for managing wild populations.

Some people still think that a Balearean boc hunt can’t ever be rugged and wild. Others already experienced the real Majorcan mountains. Love British humor 😂

“Good morning,
What can I say…? I thoroughly enjoyed my day hunting on the flat island! Although I had been doing some exercise before coming, I need to step up a bit before my next trip with you ! WOW!
I would definitely like to hunt with you again.
Once again, thanks for a trip that is unforgettable.
Paul.“

This is the nth time Klaus has visited Spain to hunt. After taking Spanish ibex and Balearean boc last season, he was still missing a great roe deer—something he was especially excited about. Klaus knew about the outstanding quality of trophies Spain is known for, and after seeing several taken in our area last season, he decided to book this hunt.

There were numerous opportunities during the first day, but none met the standard we were looking for. It wasn’t until the second morning that this specimen appeared—tall and heavy, with fantastic pearling—which immediately caught our attention.
