IN LOVING MEMORY
OBO KEBIR HUSSEIN WAKO
The Entire EHA family is mourning the loss of Humanity’s Hero, Haji Kabir Hussien Waqo
You are terribly missed and you are tremendously loved by our entire EHA family
Mr. Kebir believed in service above all. Aligning with such a selfless man helped build the foundation of what we have been able to accomplish so far. What started as a medical mission to his Adama General Hospital in 2011 with two foreigners became lifelong commitment for many more. Obo Kebir showed us that pursuing a lifetime of service even in the most dire of circumstances is possible and joyful.
It is said the greatest human act is to inspire. Obbo Kabir’s legacy was alive even during his lifetime. It is evident in the many generations of young women and men who admired Mr. Kebir’s passion for service, generosity, wisdom, intense competitiveness and character. He encouraged the next generation to be confident, to work hard, share life’s gifts with others, and live with courage and honor. His legacy will continue to serve as our inspiration going forward.
There will never be another Kebir. Regrettably, due to the pandemic, we’re not allowed to travel to join your farewell, our beloved Obo Kebir. We are filled with sorrow and unspeakable grief. Nevertheless, know that we are with you in spirit. Your spirit, your unwavering belief in our mission, your disarming sense of humor even in the face challenge will continue to inspire and guide us as we try to live up to your example.
On Behalf of EHA family
