Golden-Breasted Starling (Lamprotornis regius)
Also known as the Royal Starling, this bird is a true jewel of the savannah!
📍 Habitat:
Native to the dry open woodlands and savannahs of East Africa, especially in countries like Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. These birds thrive in areas with scattered trees and shrubs where they can forage and nest.
Family Matters:
Golden-breasted starlings belong to the Sturnidae family – the starling family. They’re social birds, often living in small family groups. What’s extra special? Family members cooperate to care for the young, making them great team players in the bird world!

We had the incredible opportunity to see the giant mole-rat in its natural habitat in the breathtaking Bale Mountains, Ethiopia! 🌄🇪🇹

This fascinating rodent is found nowhere else on Earth—it’s endemic to the Bale Mountains and plays a vital role in its ecosystem. Despite the name, it’s neither a mole nor a rat—just a truly unique creature with a big personality!

Exploring this rare and beautiful environment with family was an unforgettable experience. Crisp mountain air, stunning views, and close-up wildlife moments made it the perfect nature escape.
