Abun Yemata Guh is a breathtaking cliffside church in northern Ethiopia, famous for its stunning landscape and remarkable architecture. Carved into the mountains of Tigray, it offers a spectacular view of the surrounding terrain.

Abun Yemata was one of the Nine Saints who brought Christianity to Ethiopia from Egypt, Arabia, and other parts of the East Roman Empire. After learning Ethiopia's language and culture, he founded the Monastery of Ger'alta in Tigray's Inderta district.

The Nine Saints are credited with:

* Translating the Bible into Ge'ez, still used in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

* Establishing churches and monasteries across the country.

* Introducing monastic life and spreading the Gospel.

Abun Yemata Guh stands as a testament to their faith and legacy, with its stunning frescoes and awe-inspiring setting.
