During this sacred season, a period of fasting, as prescribed in Canon Law, is observed. Fasting transcends mere dietary restrictions; it constitutes a spiritual journey that fosters forgiveness, fortifies resolve against sin, and enhances the connection with the divine. Typically, practitioners abstain from meat, eggs, and dairy throughout the year, with increased observance during Lent.

Lent comprises three key segments: the Fast of Herkal in the initial week, the forty days of fasting commemorating Lord Jesus Christ, and Passion Week, which celebrates His atonement on the Cross. Notably, all church members undertake a three-day fast without food, commencing on Good Friday and continuing until Easter Sunday morning.
