Simien Mountains National Park
The Simien Mountains are one of Ethiopia's most popular destinations. Sitting just north of Gondar, it's easily accessible along the northern circuit of Ethiopia. Comprising 220 square kilometres of peaks, plateaus, vistas and valleys, the park offers stunning viewpoints and some of the best trekking routes in Africa
Gelada baboons in Ethiopia start their day with grooming, stretching, and bonding under the morning sun. These herbivores feed on grass and seeds before the heat sets in. Their bright red chest patches stand out as they socialize, keeping their group strong.

𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞; a little more than a picturesque ruin that sits atop a hill 74 km away from Gondar.

Guzara, was the first of the kind that would be described as “Gondarine style” by scholars of Ethiopian art and architecture.

The castle was erected by Emperor Sarsa Dengel close to Lake Tana in the mid-1570s. The plan of Guzara Castle is square with four circular bastions at each corner. Egg-shaped roofs top these bastions, a feature that was repeated in the palace complex of Fasil Ghebbi.

Facts that makes Ethiopia 🇪🇹 a unique country.

1. Ethiopia has a thirteen month calendar, they are 8 years behind the usual Gregorian calendar the world uses.

2. Ethiopia also has a different time measurement, they believe sunrise is 1 o'clock and sunset at 12.

3. Ethiopia was the only African countries to fight and win the war against colonialism.

4. Ethiopia is the birth place of the Rastafarian movement.

5. Coffee was found in Ethiopia.

6. Ethiopia is the home of the oldest people in the world, the bone Lucy found was approximately 3.2 million years. It's called the land of origins.

7. Ethiopia had the longest ruling dynasty that ended in the 1970s with Emperor Haile Salassie. The dynasty lasted from the time of Solomon till the last Emperor Haile Selassie.

8. The ark of covenant is believed to be in Ethiopia.

9. Dallol in Ethiopia is the hottest
inhabited place on Earth.

10. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital city
is the highest capital city in Africa.

11. Ethiopia is the only place you can feed live hyenas as a tourist attraction.

12. Ethiopia has the longest existing lava lake called "The Gateway to Hell". the Erta Ale Volcano derives its name from the Afar language and is translated as ‘The
Smoking Mountain’. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
