🌼 Enkutatash – Happy Ethiopian New Year! 🇪🇹
Today, Ethiopia welcomes a new year—a time of renewal, gratitude, hope, and new beginnings.
Ethiopia follows its own unique calendar, with 13 months: twelve months of 30 days each and the short 13th month, Pagume. This makes our New Year unlike anywhere else in the world.
Celebrated on September 11 or 12, Enkutatash also marks the end of the rainy season and the beginning of brighter days. Across the country, the beautiful yellow Adey flowers bloom, filling the landscape with colour and symbolizing the arrival of a new season.
It is a special time when families and friends come together, share blessings, celebrate life, and look forward to the year ahead with hope and optimism.
