The United Nations Education, Science, and Culture Organization (UNESCO) has just inscribed the Bale Mountains National Park into its World Heritage list. We are extremely overjoyed by this news and would like to congratulate all Ethiopians for our second UNESCO natural heritage!
The process of getting our heritage inscribed into this exclusive list is laborious and time-consuming. Governmental and non-governmental partners worked together and worked hard to get us to where we are today. As such, our unbridled gratitude goes out to the Oromia President Office , Ethiopia Land of Origins , of culture and sport, the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority , Oromia Culture and Tourism Bureau , Oromia Environmental Protection Authority , Bale Zone Administration office , Frankfurt Zoological Society , EWCP and many other offices for their work in preparing and submitting the landmark inscription document.
But above all, our gratitude goes out to the communities around the park for the work they have done in protecting the Bale Mountains and their incredible riches diligently. We are confident that we'll see these communities and the many tourism professionals practicing at the park benefiting from Bale's new status and, once again, extend our gratitude for their continued dedication to this national gem.
Baga gammaddan! Baga gammadne!
Congratulations to you all!
