Come hike with me! ⛰🏃🏿We don't just do tribes! We also offer day hikes to enjoy the vast view of the wonderful Rift Valley. Here we have climbed a small mountain called Bita and are using our binoculars to get a better view of the monkeys in the trees on the edge of the mountain. 🐒🌺🌴⛰💕🇪🇹
It was a wonderful evening, with 360 degree views of Hamar land, many butterflies flitting about, monkeys in the trees and a beautiful African sunset!

Hamar man ploughing his field. He is lucky enough to have cows to help him, otherwise he would have to plough it all by hand like his grandfather. The farm that this boy is ploughing isn't his, it belongs to one of his friends. He is simply helping him out, just another example of the strong, deep rooted sense of community in Hamar. 🐂🌱🐃🌿

Hamar men play a traditional game. The stones in the holes represent cows. The aim of the game is to take as many cows from other players. What this photo doesn't capture is how the game can burst into animated debates and bursts of laughter. Hamar are forever joking around.🐂😄 . .

Monday Market day! Hamar women bring their red ocre to market to sell to other women. They use it with butter to dye and dread lock their hair. Why not get to know more about the Hamar's fascinating jewellery and hair styles? Tour with Omo Odyssey and you can spend an afternoon chatting with these women, watching them braiding their hair (you can get yours done too if you like!) and finding out the history behind their distinctive look.
