Yesterday was a special day ✨
This family wanted to go to Italy for lots of reasons, but the most important was to explore the small town of San Marco in Lamis where their grandparents and great grandparents were from.
Trips like this are never a guarantee— you find the right genealogist, a great guide, and try to get everybody in the right place at the right time for some magic to happen ✨. The family was able to see churches where family was baptized or married, homes where they lived, and even meet a historian who was able to share extra information about the history of the town. The cherry on top was a jeweler who kept his shop open late to compare our traveler’s grandmother’s necklace to a private collection of his own, similar necklaces from the town.
Hearing the recap today from our travelers gave us goosebumps! It went exactly as we’d hoped— every piece in place that we could control, and room for a little duende magic to do its thing. Thank you for letting us be a small part of it!
