What a first day at Achor in Espoonlahti we’ve had. No complaints at all.
Just looking at these pictures is enough to help you slow down, breathe, and feel a bit more at ease.

We have anchored at Espoonlahti, close to our yacht club. Since our yacht is a bit too large, we’re not allowed to moor directly at the club, but that’s perfectly fine for us. Out here we’re right next to nature, and every time we open a door or window we can hear the birds singing. It’s peaceful in a way that feels like a small luxury.

Before arriving here, we spent one night on our friends’ island and helped them set their pontoons walkways in place. Sweet Hope can handle many kinds of tasks, and it’s always nice when we can use her to help others.

We’re planning to stay here for a while, enjoy the calm surroundings, and then continue our journey toward Tallinn, Estonia.

We’re back in Finland after sailing 432 nautical miles from Tuborg Havn in Denmark. Now we’ve reached Utö, the southernmost inhabited island in Finland. The journey here was, as always, memorable. Along the way we met new people, discovered beautiful places, enjoyed good food, and, most importantly, spent long, peaceful hours at sea.

Tomorrow the journey continues, and we’re excited to see what the next stretch brings.

We left Nynäshamn today just before noon and headed northbound. There’s one thing we always have to do before leaving, at least on board Sweet Hope, and that’s stopping by the little fish shop in the harbor. They make some of the best smoked fish and shrips we’ve ever tasted, and it has become a small tradition to pick some up before setting off.

After about nine hours under way, we decided to drop anchor for the first time this season. The moment we settled in, we were rewarded with an incredible view, the kind that instantly reminds you why you love being out here.

Tomorrow we’ll be lifting the anchor early and starting the crossing to Utö, Finland. A new day, a new stretch of sea, and hopefully more good stories to collect along the way.

We had two amazing days in Valdemarsvik. The town was picturesque, with charming little streets. People were incredibly friendly, polite and everyone greeted you, even if you were just out for a walk.

One of the highlights was meeting an elderly man who still sails his old wooden boat. Every September, he loads potatoes, onions, and sill onto his boat on the south side of Öland. Then he sails from harbor to harbor, selling his goods. When the first cargo is gone, he returns to Öland for a second load. He keeps his boat in Valdemarsvik over the winter and continues selling his products during the colder months. What impressed us most was that he still sails the boat completely on his own.

We also climbed up to the viewpoint, and the scenery was absolutely spectacular.

Valdemarsvik is definitely a place worth visiting.

After 82 nautical miles, we arrived in Oskarshamn. On the way here we made a quick stop by the Dämman lighthouse to take a few photos. Little did we know the entire area is alarmed. As soon as we got close, still a good 20–30 meters from the entrance, the alarm went off, complete with bright spotlights and a loud siren. We definitely weren’t expecting that. Oh well, things happen when you’re exploring new places.

Tomorrow we’ll need to do some grocery shopping and take a look around town. We might stay here for two nights, but then again, maybe not. With us, you never really know in advance, plans tend to shift with the weather and the mood.

We left Skillinge harbour early in the morning and set course for the Hanö Bay crossing. The passage took around eight hours, and the conditions couldn’t have been better. Sweet Hope was in her element, steady, calm, and moving beautifully through the water. Along the way we passed a few small fishing boats trolling for salmon, but we decided not to put our own rods out this time. Maybe on the next crossing.

Tonight we’re spending the night in Sandhamn in Torhamn. It’s a proper fishing harbour, with a handful of trawlers tied up around us, and Sweet Hope seems right at home among them. The atmosphere is peaceful and it feels like the perfect place to rest after a long day on the water.

Today, at the same time as always, it turned out to be both a sad and a happy day. Sad, because we had to say goodbye to our friends in Tuborg Havn, never an easy moment after a winter of familiar faces and good memories. But it was also a happy day, because it was finally time to cast off the lines and begin a new adventure.

The weather couldn’t have been better, giving us a smooth and beautiful passage all the way to Skillinge, Sweden.

The 2026 season has officially begun, and what a fantastic start it was. A mix of emotions, perfect sailing conditions, and the promise of everything still ahead.

Today it was time to fill up with diesel, and now we have almost everything ready for tomorrow’s departure. That feeling you get after a long winter, knowing it’s finally time to cast off the lines for the first time in many months, it is just magical.

Over the weekend we also had a little get‑together onboard Sweet Hope. As always, we had a great time. Somehow, we even managed to have time to polish the bottom of our RIB, so that’s now ready for the season too.

Our local grocery store, Meny, has a fantastic fish counter, so I had to stop by and say goodbye to the lovely guy who has helped me all winter to find the best fish for my dishes.

I even found a bit of time to knit my cardigan. Really hoping to finish that soon.

This was our last weekend here at .
Thank you all for the gifts!
