✨ Vieraita Italiasta mökillämme ja Patvinsuolla ✨
Elokuussa saimme vieraaksemme kaksi italialaista pariskuntaa, jotka viettivät muutaman päivän Koitereen mökillä ja kävivät vaeltamassa Patvinsuon kansallispuistossa. Heidän sanansa kuvaavat hienosti, mitä Pohjois-Karjalan luonto voi tarjota:
“Patvinsuo on villi ja hiljainen, jopa elokuussa. Puistossa on luonnonmetsää ja valtavia suoalueita – yksi ainoa suo kattaa 6 000 hehtaaria! Kasveista ja kasvillisuudesta kiinnostuneille se on paratiisi. Vaellus pitkospuilla keskellä avosuota oli unohtumaton elämys, ja näimme myös kurkia, laulujoutsenia, hiiripöllön ja nuolihaukkoja.”
“Mökki puolestaan on täysin varusteltu, kaunis ja viihtyisä. Sen edessä avautuva järvi tarjoaa upeat näkymät ja täydellisen rauhan. Näimme kuikan useita kertoja ja kuulimme sen äänen, kun täysikuu heijastui tyynen järven pinnasta.”
Vieraamme ihastuivat erityisesti siihen, että täällä voi yhdistää Patvinsuon luonnon hiljaisuuden ja villiyden sekä mökin mukavuudet saman matkan aikana.

✨ Guests from Italy at our cottage and Patvinsuo ✨
In August, we had the pleasure of hosting two Italian couples who spent a few days at our Koitere cottage and went hiking in Patvinsuo National Park. Their own words describe beautifully what North Karelia’s nature has to offer:
“Patvinsuo is wild and quiet, even in August. The park is home to natural forests and vast expanses of mires – one single bog alone covers 6,000 hectares! For those interested in flora and vegetation it is a paradise. Walking along the boardwalks in the middle of the open bog was an unforgettable experience, and we also spotted cranes, whooper swans, a northern hawk owl and some hobbies.”
“The cottage itself is fully equipped, beautiful and cosy. The lake in front offers splendid views and complete tranquillity. We saw the black-throated loon several times and heard its call with the full moon reflecting in the still waters of the lake.”
Our guests especially loved the combination of experiencing the silence and wilderness of Patvinsuo and, at the same time, the comfort of the cottage during the same trip.
