The standard contract is for 5 months, from November 2026 until March 2027.
We mainly organize 2-hour and 4-hour Husky Safaris, as well as multi-day expeditions. During the tours, guides travel by snowmobile and dog sled. Snowmobiles are also used for daily work around the Husky Park, so a valid Category B or T driving licence is required.
Your responsibilities:
- guiding and ensuring the safety of our tours,
- harnessing and preparing the dogs,
- caring for the dogs (feeding, cleaning, etc.),
- interacting with guests,
- occasionally transporting guests by minibus,
- minor maintenance and repair work when needed.
We are looking for people who are:
- friendly towards both dogs and people,
- experienced or willing to learn,
- physically fit and able to work in cold winter conditions,
- able to communicate in English,
- holders of a valid driving licence,
- holders of a valid first aid certificate (if you do not have one, it can be completed after your arrival).
What we offer:
- an hourly paid employment contract from your first working day; for new team members, the first month is a paid training period,
- in previous seasons, our employees typically earned approximately €3,000–€5,000 gross per month, depending on the number of hours worked, responsibilities and personal commitment,
- free training to become a professional husky safari guide,
- work equipment including winter boots, insulated trousers, hoodie or fleece, winter jacket, work overall, first aid kit and a two-way radio. You should bring your own thermal underwear, knife, multitool and headlamp,
- accommodation in single or shared apartments. The rent for a shared two-person apartment is €390 per month. The apartments are located right next to the Husky Park, so you won't waste time or money commuting,
- partial reimbursement of travel costs to Kakslauttanen.
In addition, you will gain:
- valuable knowledge from experienced guides,
- the opportunity to bring your family and friends on our tours,
- daily contact with sled dogs,
- the possibility to continue working during the summer season and/or return for future winter seasons.
Additional information:
- Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. The nearest grocery store is in Saariselkä, approximately 10 km from Kakslauttanen. Meals are prepared individually.
- The surrounding area offers an extensive network of cross-country ski trails as well as ski slopes, including Finland's longest sledding run. 😃
- If you are interested, you will also have the opportunity to join one of our multi-day expeditions. Several days of dog sledding through the breathtaking wilderness of the Far North, with overnight stays in traditional wooden cabins and evenings in a sauna deep in the heart of wild Lapland, can become one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.
- The nearest airports are Ivalo and Rovaniemi.
Our winter team consists of around 15 people. About 80% of our staff return every season, so we are looking for the remaining 20%. If you enjoy working with dogs, like meeting people and don't mind real Arctic winter conditions, we'd love to welcome you to our team!
