Paid parking is introduced for the first time in Lapland national parks. Visitors will be required to pay the parking fees in five pilot destinations including three Lapland national park and nature reserve areas.

The parking fees will go towards the maintenance of the destinations. Ideally, the collected fees will cover the costs of maintaining the parking areas, roads, and hiking structures.

The parking fee will be 1 euro per hour or max 5 euro per day.
