In the deepest winter, we give thanks for all the beautiful encounters we have experienced here in Paistunturi wilderness area in 2019 with humans and other-than-human nature beings.
The moon lights some of these darkest days of the year and reminds us of the importance of turning inwards and reflecting in silence. We are grateful for the blessings of this place we get to be immersed in.
It's amazing to realize how much inner growth and evolution has taken place while rooting ourselves into this place and how this understanding emanates into our interaction with our guests and grows deeper when we are together. We feel transformed by each visit!
Also, understanding better of what it means to be living in Sápmi, the land of the indigeneous Sámi people, has sunk in on a different level this year. Studying Northern Sámi language and culture has given new perspective on what it means to live in an ever-present connection with the land. For this we are truly grateful and wish to be a positive local members of community in the future also.
We look forward to the start of a new decade, the new adventures it entails and all the new people we get to meet.
Happy holidays and all the best for the new year for everyone reading this, near or far!
